The Photography Club on campus is putting together a 2010 calendar called "The Skidmore Spur," featuring members of 12 of the college's clubs posing in the nude, covering necessary parts to keep the calendar PG with various props conveying the mission of each club.

Photography Club President Keith Petri '10 and Vice President Chris Weigl '11 will be doing the calendar's photo shoot this weekend. Starting Friday, people will be able to pre-order "The Skidmore Spur" online for $10 using PayPal.

All profits raised by calendar sales will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the Northeast.

"We decided to donate to Make-A-Wish Foundation because they help kids with terminal cancer and grant them one wish. We want to be a part of that cause," Petri said.

For parents who do not need to see their children naked in college or anyone who is just plain uncomfortable with nudity but would still like to make a donation, contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation can be made by anyone with a PayPal account on the Photography Club's Web site.

All pre-orders can be picked up starting Dec. 8 and extra calendars will be available for purchase at that time. The calendar will be available for purchase in some locations in downtown Saratoga as well, including Esperanto, the sole advertiser featured in the calendar.

Some of the clubs participating in the calendar include the Wombats, Outing Club, Pulse, SkidTV, Rithmos and Bandersnatchers.

"The pictures will feature club members posing in humorous manners covering up their private parts with objects that relate to the particular club's activity," Petri said.

With dozens of eager clubs on campus, the Photography Club had no trouble finding 12 willing participants for the calendar. Petri believes it is a fun way for the clubs to reveal to the student body what they do and that "The Skidmore Spur" will work as an advertisement, yielding more student interest in the participating clubs.

There will be a first round of calendars printed in December. At the beginning of second semester, more calendars will be available for purchase.

Calendars can be pre-ordered or donations can be made starting Friday Nov. 20 at http://www.skidmore.edu/studentorgs/photography under "The Skidmore Spur" section.
