"The Fall of my Heart," A Poem

Feathers fall slowly, methodically

Drifting side to side.

Weightless.

Painless to me.

Barely able to be felt or touched.

As I look outside my window, the snow falls

Lightly.

It coats my Heart;

The snowflake soon vanishes.

Waterfalls are Forceful,

Yet Beautiful.

Naturally falling with the force of gravity

Without restriction.

The Archer falls the moment,

He releases the Arrow.

The Arrow of Knowledge strikes

At the center of my Heart.

Where it pierces

And murders Trust and its sweetness—

Making space for Hurt and its bitterness.

When bad news hits,

It falls hard and leaves an imprint

Eternally engraved into the

Existence of the One who learns

The Truth.

Tears fall

Violently,

With a force greater than

Gravity:

The Force of Pain.

Streaming down my face

Indescribable emotions escape

From within—

Uncontainable.

My Heart

Falls out of my chest.

And it runs away from

Me.
